Alright I know this one mulch bed isn't r/nolawnsmaterial but I had a blast doing it and want to do more to get rid of more grass.
Spent the last few weekends digging out the side of my house and putting in a new mulch bed.
Put in some native bushes and flowers and just finished watering them up after transplanting.
Bees are already coming to the purple flower.
I hate cutting my grass. It's not really grass, maybe 50% grass and 50% weeds.....I've got like a half acre and mowing takes ~90 mins with my crappy mower.
I want to dig up and plant 2 big ass mulch beds with a willow and a maple and more native shrubs and flowers in my front yard to cut back on more grass maintenance.
Also going to build a patio or ground level deck in the backyard, that'll cut back on another ~192 SQ ft of lawn.
Not trying to get rid of it all, planning to get a doggo, and want some space for him to run around and do his business in, but that's in the backyard. My front yard is massive and takes the longest to mow.
Besides mulch beds and a patio, what more can I do to get rid of grass?
